Saks Fifth Avenue Temporarily Closes Stores in Response to COVID-19

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In response to the current COVID-19 situation, Saks Fifth Avenue has made the decision to temporarily close all of its stores across the U.S. and Canada, effective Wednesday, March 18. The company expects for stores to remain closed for two weeks, unless otherwise instructed by government or public health officials, and we will reassess operations at that time. All Associates will be paid for their scheduled hours during this two week period. As the situation evolves, we will continue to evaluate all pay and benefits.

“The well-being of our associates and customers is always of utmost importance, and we are committed to making thoughtful decisions to support our communities and our business,” said Marc Metrick, President, Saks Fifth Avenue. “As we all work together during this unprecedented time, we know the right action is to close our store locations for the time being. We will continue to reassess as the situation evolves.”

Saks Fifth Avenue will continue to be available for its customers online at saks.com and through its mobile app.
