“Say Cheese!” Snap a Photo and Help Reliant Support Rodeo Scholarships

Reliant donates $60,000 to Texas youth through interactive photo mosaic

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It’s officially rodeo season in Houston and Reliant is encouraging smiles, snaps and selfies at the Houston Livestock Show and RodeoTM to support scholarships for Texas youth. As a longtime Heritage Partner, Reliant’s new interactive photo mosaic celebrates the Rodeo’s historic $500 million milestone supporting Texas youth and education.

For each picture shared from the photo mosaic with the hashtag #RodeoHouston500M, Reliant is donating $5 toward Rodeo scholarships, up to $60,000 total. But the photo opportunities don’t end there! Reliant is helping give the world’s largest rodeo new bragging rights as the “most photogenic” with a Texas-sized bluebonnet flower wall and the 25-foot tall Reliant Big Boot, both perfect backdrops for capturing memories with family and friends.

“The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is an iconic community tradition, and we are excited to join them in celebrating the incredible milestone of $500 million in support of Texas youth and education,” said Elizabeth Killinger, president, Reliant. “Our Rodeo display this year is a fun way for families to join in our commitment of supporting students through scholarships, while capturing keepsake photos of their time at the Rodeo.”

Putting Education in the Spotlight

New this year, Reliant’s larger-than-life, interactive photo mosaic, located inside NRG Center at Hall C, will start as a blank canvas before gradually coming to life over the course of the 20-day rodeo with photos from Instagram or Twitter that feature the hashtag #RodeoHouston500M. The mosaic will celebrate the Rodeo’s mission and commitment of more than $500 million to Texas youth and education since 1932. In addition to Reliant’s donation for each photo shared with the hashtag, Rodeo-goers will receive a printed polaroid photo to keep.

Texas-Sized Photo Moments

The Reliant Big Boot has become a well-known landmark on the Rodeo grounds. Located near the BHP entrance to NRG Stadium, the boot provides the ultimate backdrop and social media moment for the Rodeo’s millions of visitors each year.

In NRG Center behind Reliant’s photo mosaic, visitors won’t want to miss the new Texas-themed flower wall featuring the beloved state flower, the bluebonnet, molded in the shape of the Lonestar State and surrounded by an authentic western hat display.

Portable Power and Keeping Rodeo-Goers Connected

People depend on their mobile devices to stay connected, and Reliant’s portable power solutions can help guests stay powered while enjoying their time at the Rodeo with free first-day rentals, courtesy of Reliant. There are over two dozen charging stations with portable power packs available across NRG Park, including NRG Stadium on every ramp at levels one, three and five, as well as inside NRG Center and NRG Arena. Additional phone charging options can be found inside the Champion Wine Garden and The Social Spur, the Rodeo’s new social lounge.

Texans can also bring the power of the Rodeo home with them. Customers who make the switch to the Reliant Rodeo plan get a $100 Cavender’s gift card to use toward their favorite western wear. And of course, they’ll also wrangle a low price on electricity. With Reliant’s new text to enroll option, visitors can simply text the word Rodeo to 697-697 to receive plan details and conveniently enroll from their phone. That’s Reliant providing Power Your Way.
