BJ’s Charitable Foundation Surprises Teachers in the Pensacola Metro Area with $30,000 Donation through DonorsChoose

Donation funds 55 classroom projects in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and celebrates the retailer’s newest location in Pensacola, Fla.

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. & PENSACOLA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BJ’s Wholesale Club (NYSE: BJ) announced a $30,000 donation to fund classroom projects currently listed by teachers in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties through crowd-funding website DonorsChoose. The donation from BJ’s Charitable Foundation provides classroom essentials and funds projects for the students of Pensacola and the surrounding area.

BJ’s donation will fulfill 55 projects on DonorsChoose and will impact over 5,000 local students in the Pensacola metro area. Projects funded include:

● Essential school supplies, such as notebooks, printer paper, pencils and glue sticks, for Kindergarten students

● Flexible seating options that encourage independent reading and allow students to take ownership of their learning style

● Interactive literacy kits to foster independent work and improve reading skills
