ORANGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Western Dental & Orthodontics, one of the nation’s leaders in accessible, affordable oral healthcare and the leading orthodontics provider in the country, today announced the launch of ClearArc™ orthodontic aligners, a more affordable way to get a better smile when traditional braces aren’t needed.
ClearArc is available only at Western Dental. It is being rolled out to 233 California offices in January and to offices in Texas, Arizona and Nevada in February.
ClearArc is the result of extensive research and testing to develop an affordable clear aligner for consumers. It is available for 40% less than the leading brand and offers unique advantages over rivals, most notably that Western Dental orthodontists personally evaluate and treat patients.
“As the leading provider of orthodontics in the country, we’re in a unique position,” said Dr. John Luther, Chief Dental Officer at Western Dental. “Every ClearArc patient is evaluated for treatment in a personal exam by an orthodontist, which isn’t the case with leading competitors. This quality control measure helps ensure that patients are suitable candidates for aligners before spending their hard-earned dollars.”
Clear aligners have been around for years and usually required attachments to aid in teeth straightening, which diminished the benefits of an aligner that is intended to be invisible. ClearArc is different because it uses a groundbreaking technology called ClearWear™ that makes the aligners effective with fewer, if any, attachments. They are also stain resistant and virtually invisible.
“A lot of thought and consumer testing went into the development of ClearArc to create a superior product that costs less,” said Eric Pellkofer, Vice President-Orthodontic Operations. “Our patients also appreciate the flexible financing options and the confidence that comes from being evaluated in a personal visit with one of our orthodontists.”
Aligners are made from a clear plastic or acrylic material and help patients with crowded teeth or spacing issues. Patients should wear the custom-made aligners that fit tightly over teeth for at least 20 hours per day, removing them only to eat, brush and floss. The aligning process can take a few months to a couple years, depending on a patient’s teeth and commitment to wearing the aligners as much as possible. The alternative would be traditional orthodontic brackets attached directly to the teeth.
“In any case, patients should always be treated by a qualified orthodontist when undergoing orthodontic treatment,” Dr. Luther stressed.
