Valassis Announced Michelle Engle as Chief Marketing Officer

Award-winning Executive Recognized for Innovation in Marketing

LIVONIA, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Valassis, the leader in marketing technology and consumer engagement, today announced the promotion of Michelle Engle to chief marketing officer (CMO). Engle has guided the Valassis brand evolution and go-to-market initiatives for the past year, in addition to helping establish the organization as an award-winning, omnichannel, data-driven marketing services company. As CMO, Engle continues to report to President and CEO Cali Tran, while leading all of Valassis marketing efforts including brand, product, lead generation, thought leadership and communications.

With 25 years of product and marketing experience, a deep understanding of implementing technology-driven innovation and a track record of leading successful organizational change, Engle is uniquely positioned to lead Valassis marketing through the next phase of growth. The Valassis Consumer Graph™, built and launched under her stewardship, was Business Intelligence Group’s product of the year in 2019.

“We operate as a truly independent, omnichannel marketing partner, and the results of Michelle’s efforts to elevate our marketing resources and expertise are emblematic of Valassis’ development within the industry. Michelle’s unique ability of knowing how to balance the science and art of marketing strategies, coupled with her fluency in deep technology-based innovation, makes her best positioned to ensure we continue to deliver growth for our clients in this new decade,” Tran said.

Before joining Valassis, Engle held leadership positions at MaxPoint, iContact, Channel Advisor and JP Morgan. She is also active in the local Raleigh community, serving on the Board of Girls on the Run of the Triangle and as a coach for University of North Carolina’s Introduction to Entrepreneurship.

“I am proud of Valassis’ achievements and excited to be the brand steward as we celebrate our 50th year,” Engle said. “It is a privilege to work alongside an extremely talented team and represent an organization that consistently delivers sustained ROI for our clients and community with our patented, award-winning technology and marketing solutions.”
