Aparavi Adds Gary Lyng to C-Suite as Chief Marketing Officer Following Breakthrough 2019

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aparavi®, a leader in data intelligence and automation software and services, today announced the appointment of Gary Lyng as Chief Marketing Officer. Lyng, who has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software and infrastructure, driving innovative, award-winning products, teams and programs, will drive Aparavi’s growing customer, partner engagement, brand and visibility of Aparavi’s real-world business impact.

“Gary is well known in the industry as a trailblazer capable of developing new initiatives for leading technologies that transform into true business benefits for clients and partners,” said Aparavi Founder and CEO Adrian Knapp. “He is rare species with an uncanny ability to differentiate the business value and customer experience of a solution.”

“There is data chaos across many industries where business leaders struggle to understand what they have, where it is, and ensure it is accessible,” said Lyng. “Unfortunately, and all too often, technology is developed to fix technology versus truly understanding the business need rather than to design solutions that simplify and scale with the ever-changing demands. I discovered that Aparavi has the engineering strength, IP and shared vision to address data chaos the right way.”

With Aparavi’s data intelligence, organizations gain control of their information with simplicity, lowering costs, and risk while gaining new insight. The highly scalable technology enables organizations to easily search, classify, protect, and optimize their data at the edge, on premise and across hybrid and multi-cloud with open secure access for demanding use cases including data governance, compliance analytics and machine learning to name a just a few.

Lyng has built his career in enterprise software, storage and systems. His success has been based on focusing on the ‘Big Picture’ to deploy appropriate strategies, always with a passion for making a difference by disrupting the status quo, while communicating value to real-world impact. He joins Aparavi from Violin Systems, a leader in high-performance storage, where he helped boost revenue, perception and leadership and was named one of 2019’s Most Influential CMOs by CIO Review. Prior to Violin, he spearheaded products and solutions at SanDisk (acquired by Western Digital), EMC, NetApp, Hewlett Packard, and Veritas Software.

Lyng’s hire follows a breakthrough 2019 for Aparavi with multiple industry awards earned, an all-new product Aparavi File Protect & Insight℠ (FPI), new partnerships to expand its reach, an expanded management and engineering team, and honors for its chief and other executives. According to Knapp, “With Gary onboard, we expect to leapfrog these successes when we deliver an even more intriguing and transformational technology to address the data chaos, complicated data management, and governance environments.”
