BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT), a leading global specialty chemicals and performance materials company, was recently named one of America’s Most Responsible Companies 2020 by Newsweek Magazine. Cabot ranked in the top 10% of companies analyzed and is the only carbon black manufacturer on the list. This accomplishment recognizes Cabot’s strong corporate citizenship and transparent reporting.
“As one of the leading performance materials and specialty chemicals companies globally, we understand the role that we play in setting an example for our industry and we hold ourselves to the highest standard,” said Sean Keohane, president and CEO. “It is a great honor to have the collective efforts of our 4,500 colleagues around the globe recognized in Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Most Responsible Companies.”
Newsweek, in partnership with Statista, developed the list of America’s Most Responsible companies through an analysis of 2,000 publicly traded companies. The four-phase vetting process included an independent survey among 6,500 U.S. citizens and research based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from Corporate Annual Reports, CSR Reports, Sustainability Reports and Corporate Citizenship Reports. The detailed analysis covered three areas of corporate responsibility: environmental, social and corporate governance.
In addition to America’s Most Responsible Companies, Cabot has recently celebrated several other accomplishments in corporate social responsibility:
- Received a gold rating for sustainability from EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive year
- Awarded a top rating from ISS for management of environmental risks and opportunities
