KIRKLAND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EvergreenHealth’s Board of Commissioners announced today its selection of Jeff Tomlin, MD, to lead the Kirkland-based health system as chief executive officer. Dr. Tomlin had filled the role of interim CEO since May 31 following Dr. Amy Beiter’s departure from the organization.
Before serving as interim CEO, Dr. Tomlin oversaw the health system’s clinical quality and safety initiatives as EvergreenHealth’s chief medical and quality officer, and was responsible for leading risk management, patient relations, infection control and research, employed specialist practices, surgical services, pharmacy and medical staff services.

Dr. Tomlin has been a respected leader at EvergreenHealth for the past 30 years, beginning his tenure with the health system as a practicing anesthesiologist in 1990. In 2004, Dr. Tomlin was named medical director for the Evergreen Surgical Center, and was later appointed as medical director for surgical services at EvergreenHealth. In 2010, he joined the executive leadership team as senior vice president, serving the organization administratively while continuing to practice anesthesiology.
Dr. Tomlin is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and spent six years as a Marine Corps pilot prior to attending medical school and residency at University of Washington School of Medicine. He continued his military service after medical school as a member of the Navy Reserve Medical Corps.
Dr. Tomlin has served on the Northshore School District Wall of Honor Scholarship Committee and in 2017 was named winner of Seattle Business magazine’s “Washington Leaders in Health Care” Award for Outstanding Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer.
