Caroline Isbey, RN, MSN, Joins Monarch Medical Technologies to Lead Clinical Education Program

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--Monarch Medical Technologies, the leader in precision insulin dosing technology for optimized glycemic management, today announced that Caroline Isbey, RN, MSN, has joined the organization to serve as the clinical education manager. Drawing from her more than 30 years of nursing experience in diabetes management, Isbey will be responsible for managing the educational resources to aid organizations in the adoption of best practices for diabetes care and use of Monarch’s EndoTool® Glucose Management System.

Isbey joins Monarch from The Joint Commission, where she most recently served as the associate director for the Accreditation and Disease-Specific Care (DSC) Certification programs. In this role, she assisted organizations with achieving accreditation and with oversight of all certification activities related to disease management services, including the development of standards and review processes.

“In the hospital, we must be sending our patients with diabetes the right message on how they should care for their condition by managing hyperglycemia and avoiding hypoglycemia,” said Isbey. “In order to do this, organizations must have a comprehensive training program and clinicians must demonstrate adequate comprehension. I look forward to joining the Monarch team to help hospitals implement the education on how to use EndoTool and ultimately send their patients the right message in how to manage their diabetes.”

Previously, Isbey served as Director of Clinical Operations in the Hospital Division at Healthways, Inc., a national disease management provider. She began her career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she served as certified diabetes educator and clinical nurse specialist. Isbey is a frequent speaker and published author and brings a unique perspective to her role having lived with type 1 diabetes from a young age.

“We are thrilled to have Caroline as the newest member of the Monarch team,” said Laurel Fuqua, RN, MSN, Executive VP & Chief Clinical Officer of Monarch Medical Technologies. “One of the most challenging components in any quality improvement initiative is education. With diabetes impacting every unit and nearly every department in the hospital, a comprehensive education plan is required, and Caroline is well-equipped to help our customers fully optimize EndoTool.”
