Global Atlantic Appoints Edward Wilson as Chief Risk Officer

NEW YORK--()--Global Atlantic Financial Group, a leading U.S.-focused retirement, life insurance and reinsurance company, is pleased to announce that Edward Wilson has joined the company as Chief Risk Officer effective April 1st. Wilson, who joins Global Atlantic after a 26 year career at Goldman Sachs, will also serve on the Management Committee and chair the company’s Risk Committee.

Reporting directly to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allan Levine, Wilson will lead the firm-wide risk management committee, oversee, design, and execute a robust risk management framework, setting risk policy and governance, while measuring and monitoring risk exposures for the company.

Previously, Wilson was the global head of Risk in Goldman Sachs’ Prime Services business. Prior to that, he formed and led the Global Liquidity Products group, working with GS’s Corporate Treasury department on firm funding and liquidity risk strategy. Previous roles included overseeing risk in the Equities Division, and various trading roles in FX, Equity Derivatives and Interest Rate Products businesses. Wilson also served as chair of the Clearing House Risk Committee, the Firmwide Asset-Liability Committee, and the Securities Division Risk Committee, and was a member of the Firmwide Finance Committee.
