Fuel Tech Awarded Air Pollution Control Orders Totaling $3.0 Million

WARRENVILLE, Ill.--()--Fuel Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: FTEK), a technology company providing advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems, emissions control and water treatment in utility and industrial applications, today announced the receipt of multiple air pollution control (APC) contracts from customers in the US, Europe and China, all for projects located in China. These awards have an aggregate value of approximately $3 million.

An order from Europe was received for ULTRA® systems that will be installed on multiple industrial units firing municipal solid waste and being retrofitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. Fuel Tech’s ULTRA process provides for the safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent where SCR is used to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx), eliminating the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. Delivery of these systems will be completed in the first quarter of 2020.

Two US contracts were received for multiple NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) systems for two industrial plants firing natural gas. Fuel Tech’s SNCR technology is a proven solution as industrial combustion unit owners look to comply with more stringent NOx control requirements. Deliveries for these systems will be completed by the third quarter of 2019. Two additional SNCR orders were received for a utility coal-fired boiler and an industrial unit burning hazardous waste, with deliveries to be completed by the first quarter of 2019.

Vincent J. Arnone, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “These contracts demonstrate our ability to meet the on-going needs of our customer base and are a testament to our ability to deliver quality and performance. Our worldwide relationships with large multi-national companies continue to expand, and they allow us to provide a wide range of environmental and emissions control solutions across multiple geographies to help our diverse global customer base meet their compliance needs.”
