O’Brien’s strategic mandate will be to continue to accelerate Agreement Express’ momentum and provide leadership through its next phase of transformational growth. He succeeds Mike Gardner, founder of Agreement Express, who will become the company’s Chief Strategy Officer and remain on the board of directors.
Under his leadership, O’Brien significantly scaled Zywave, a well-known provider of solutions for the insurance industry, and was integral in the adoption of a SaaS platform which rocketed the company to become a premier leader in the industry generating almost $100 million in annual revenue. As a founding member of the Zywave team, he was promoted to CEO in 2013 and successfully oversaw double-digit organic revenue growth while overseeing four acquisitions as well as two exits for its private equity investors. O’Brien was named one of the top SaaS CEOs by the SaaS Report in 2018.
The company also announced that founder Mike Gardner will become Chief Strategy Officer and will continue to serve as a director on the board, enabling Agreement Express to continue to benefit from his leadership. Gardner was instrumental in securing strategic partnerships with TD Ameritrade Institutional and Fidelity Clearing and Custody Solutions which both offer the company’s seamless onboarding experience to its network of advisors.
