NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--B/R Kicks is about to host the ultimate celebration of sneaker culture with “The Drop Up,” an event being held this Friday, Dec. 7, in New York City. The day-long festivity will include an elevated fan experience from 1-9:30 p.m., highlighted by a special sneaker customization lab featuring Mache and 1:1 master classes by sneaker designer UBIQ.
The “The Drop Up” is a path forward for athletes, musicians, influencers and fans to come together to see how the stadium tunnel is becoming the new men’s runway. The event will sit at the intersection of culture and style with sports being the connective tissue for all. Located at a Chelsea Gallery in New York (525 W 24th Street), The Drop Up will also include art exhibits featuring the top 10 basketball kicks of all time as elected by our editorial team; GOAT sneaker selfie photo opportunities; and exclusive B/R Kicks customizable products for sale.
Event sponsor adidas will tap into “The Drop Up” as an opportunity to showcase one of its latest sneaker releases, the N3XT L3V3L. Additional partners will include Levi’s® demonstrating how to perfect the ideal jean lay based on an individual’s personal sneaker preferences, and Twitter, who will have a digital wall featuring event-related Tweets and selfies from fans with their favorite sneaker.
To help celebrate the intersection of sneaker culture and the NBA, Twitter will also build a #NBATwitter wall to display some of the most-discussed kicks on the platform throughout the year. #NBATwitter is one of the most vibrant and engaged communities on the platform, and sneaker fanatics routinely turn to Twitter to discuss their favorite drops.
“The B/R Kicks Drop Up is aiming to redefine the sneaker drop experience by creating an interactive event that is both engaging and accessible for fans,” said Ed Romaine, B/R Chief Brand Officer. “B/R is a brand that connects sports and culture and there is no better demonstration of those two areas coming together like the sneaker community.”
