Garmin® announces integration with GOLD'S AMP™, the music-driven digital personal training app by Gold’s Gym

OLATHE, Kan.--()--Garmin International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today announced an integration with the GOLD’S AMP™ music-driven digital personal training app by Gold’s Gym to display heart rate in real-time with compatible Garmin devices1, improving the effectiveness of user workouts.

As the world’s trusted fitness authority, Gold’s Gym introduced the GOLD’S AMPaudio coaching and music app in 2017 to Gold's Gym members and non-members alike. The GOLD'S AMP™ app layers innovative workouts from expert Gold’s Gym coaches with curated music playlists to provide motivating, results-driven workouts on demand.

GOLD’S AMP™ provides users with expert guidance, coaching and encouragement every step of their workout,” said Gold’s Gym Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Strategic Partnerships Josh Rider. “Teaming up with Garmin as a leading wearable technology provider is a natural fit for GOLD’S AMP™ as we continue to expand and enhance the experience and results tracking we provide within the app.”

The Garmin integration will make the experience of starting a workout with GOLD'S AMP™ even more interactive as users with compatible Garmin devices such as the vívoactive® 3, the fēnix® 5 series and the Forerunner® 645 Music, will now see their heart rate displayed in real-time on the mobile app throughout their workouts. Heart rate data can be used to improve performance and accomplish fitness goals faster.

“We know through our many years of experience in the fitness wearables space that the importance of heart rate monitoring during exercise simply cannot be overstated,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales. “Through this collaboration with Gold’s Gym, we’re excited to combine our two areas of expertise to provide a digital personal training experience like no other.”

Later this fall, users will be able to log and store workout data in both GOLD'S AMP™ and the Garmin Connect™ mobile app, with a GOLD’S AMP™ Connect IQ app coming soon to compatible devices.

The ever-expanding portfolio of Garmin wearables have a variety of features to enhance and promote healthy and active lifestyles. Using Garmin Elevate™ wrist-based heart rate2 technology to stay motivated throughout the GOLD'S AMP™ workouts is a perfect example of how Garmin Health partners can take advantage of Garmin’s cutting-edge wearable technology. New Garmin wearables features like music and training plans provide endless opportunities for future innovations between Gold’s Gym and Garmin.

GOLD’S AMP™ features hundreds of in-gym and outdoor workouts along with thousands of commercial-free DJ mixes and is available in the U.S. and Canada for iOS and Android on the App Store and Google Play for $9.99 USD per month.
