emovis Sponsors Career Training Event at L.A. Trade-Technical College

LOS ANGELES--()--emovis, a leading service delivery and technology company specializing in electronic tolling and smart mobility solutions, announced today that it partnered with Long Beach-based Career Excellence Academy (CEA) to sponsor a career training event on June 21 at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC). The training highlighted potential career paths within the transportation industry for the next generation of Angelenos.

The training, which featured experts from within the transportation industry, focused on emovis’ global operations, opportunities for beginning a career in customer relations and strategies for career advancement.

“It is an essential part of emovis’ global mission to not only deliver the finest service to our customers but to foster and promote a high-quality workforce within our industry and especially within the communities we serve,” said Nevine Amer, a senior project manager for emovis who led the training event.

“emovis’ goal is to provide young people and those looking to make a career change with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a good-paying career in transportation and to foster an atmosphere where the mobility challenges facing the Los Angeles region can be solved,” Amer said.

emovis has a track record of successful training programs in the United Kingdom. The company cites those programs as a major reason for the company’s success in the U.K. and a testament to its commitment to hiring a diverse workforce and providing jobs and training to those who may otherwise find career advancement difficult. For example, in the U.K., emovis hired many individuals with hearing impairments to work in one of the company’s imaging centers. The training program was a vital conduit for connecting potential workers with leaders in the industry.

The Career Excellence Academy, which specializes in providing professional development training seminars and has deep ties to Los Angeles through its partnerships with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and LATTC, lent its unrivaled expertise to the event. CEA, whose involvement in the training event was sponsored by emovis, was primarily responsible for connecting local experts in the field with the event and collaborating with emovis to craft workshops and presentations.

“CEA is excited to welcome emovis to our network of industry partners,” said LaShondra Mercurius, managing partner for the Career Excellence Academy. “We are passionate about developing and empowering L.A. communities. Through our program, we bring together the transportation industry to not only educate the community but to also build foundations for meaningful long term careers. Our industry is growing and L.A. has a unique, diverse, talented workforce, which, with relevant training, is crucial to the development of L.A. transportation systems.”
