CLEAR LAKE, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kingland Systems achieved a level 5 maturity level appraisal from the CMMI Institute software development practices. The level 5 rating is the highest maturity level of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and places Kingland as one of only 55 organizations in the United States to achieve this appraisal.
Kingland adopted CMMI nearly 10 years ago as the industry standard to build enterprise class software and the Kingland Platform. CMMI is the globally-recognized set of best practices that enables organizations to improve performance, key capabilities, and critical business processes.
"This validates our commitment to provide clients with quality enterprise class software solutions from our more than 25 years of experience. Our goal is always repeatable, high quality development processes, agility, and a sustainable continuous improvement culture," said Kingland President Todd Rognes.
According to CMMI, a maturity level 5 appraisal means an organization is focused on continuous improvement and is built to pivot and respond to opportunity and change. The organization's stability provides a foundation for agility and innovation.
"Our teams use nearly 450 specific processes to develop our software. Those processes are aligned with CMMI and designed, improved, and audited regularly, providing the guardrails for us to innovate for our clients. For example, at level 5 we're now able to use statistics and predictive analytics to predict how long a project should take and understand how specific decisions could impact quality," said Rognes.
Kingland's adoption of CMMI rigor has occurred while also transitioning to agile and DevSecOps over the last number of years. Tony Brownlee, Chief Strategy Officer, added "CMMI maturity level 5 is another key milestone in our growth. Process, DevSecOps, Cloud, and Artificial Intelligence are all strategic investments we're making to deliver the type of innovations and consistent performance our clients expect from Kingland."
