NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Intellectus Partners today announced that the firm has expanded its investment team with Trevor Mottl joining Intellectus Partners as Head of Portfolio Structure, Risk & Alternative data.
Mr. Mottl will lead portfolio optimization strategies, derivatives, risk management, cryptocurrencies and private investments for Intellectus. He will be based in the firm’s San Francisco headquarters and will join the firm's Investment Committee. He will report to the CEO of Intellectus, David J. La Placa.

Mr. Mottl’s exemplary career spans more than 19 years as an analyst, trader and portfolio manager. His career includes senior roles managing risk at some of the top hedge funds such as Balyasny Asset Management LP and Man GLG.
