SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WunderVu, a Seattle-based VR production studio specializing in high-resolution, immersive experiences, today announced its official debut as the embedded VR storyteller for Pixvana, a SaaS startup that’s powering the future of XR (VR, AR, MR) storytelling and immersive media. As experts in 360 and 180 cameras and production technology, WunderVu’s services span client consulting and education, concept development, directing, and all aspects of pre-and-post production, including visual effects. Utilizing its own state-of-the-art production studio and Pixvana’s cloud-based SPIN Studio platform, WunderVu offers customers the industry’s most advanced and comprehensive VR production services.
WunderVu is founded by Scott Squires, Co-founder and Creative Director, and by Aaron Rhodes, Executive Producer. Squires is an Oscar nominated Visual Effects Supervisor with more than 30 years of experience in visual effects. He has worked on numerous high-profile films, including Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Dragonheart, The Mask and Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace. Rhodes has been in the Film and Video industry for nearly 20 years, serving as a Producer, Director, Editor, DP, Colorist, RotoPaint Supervisor, and Visual Effects Supervisor. Most recently, Rhodes produced videos for technology clients such as Adobe, Hewlett Packard, Oculus, and Nvidia.
“We are an expert team of XR storytellers obsessed with creating beautiful, high-resolution, immersive experiences,” Squires said. “XR storytelling changes the way people experience, engage, and recall your brand. It transcends place and time by transporting someone into a new perspective, whether the audience is consumers, businesses or employees. The synergistic relationship between WunderVu and Pixvana SPIN Studio is pushing the potential of XR, bringing groundbreaking creative concepts and storytelling tools to market.”
Early WunderVu projects include a 360-degree VR experience of an NFL playoff game, in collaboration with the Seattle Seahawks, and an on-field immersive experience of a Seattle Sounders FC match. Other projects include an ongoing Comic Con series with SyFy Wire, an NBC Universal company - including events in San Diego, New York, and most recently, Seattle. WunderVu has also worked with large agencies to successfully bring the power of XR storytelling to a number of brands, including Volvo and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
“WunderVu serves as an excellent collaborator to agencies that may not otherwise have the resources or in-house expertise to take on studio-quality 360 and VR video projects on their own,” said Jessica Michaels, Founder and CEO for Bread n Butter, a global agency specializing in brand strategy and branded content. “Their expertise across the entire VR ecosystem has been invaluable to our work. The engagement rates and time spent viewing our branded VR and 360 video content is exponentially higher than standard video. We are excited to continue our partnership with WunderVu as immersive experiences become the next go-to medium for creating unique and memorable engagements for our agency clients.”
“In order for VR to progress to the next level and gain larger consumer adoption, the ecosystem needs to advance with improved headsets, stunning content, and powerful platforms,” said Forest Key, Founder and CEO of Pixvana. “We are on a mission to solve today’s problem of variability in content quality and end-to-end experiences across the VR marketplace. Our award winning creative team is transforming the way content is developed for today's platforms and headsets. We’re also innovating for the future of immersive experiences -- in part, by leveraging the power of Pixvana SPIN Studio, including groundbreaking advancements in content sharing and viewing.”
