BDO USA, LLP Restructures South Florida Practice

CHICAGO--()--BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and advisory firms, today announced its existing Miami and Coral Gables offices will combine into one location at Miami Tower, effective December 18. The move is the most visible evidence of a new South Florida strategy which brings significant changes and emphasizes increased focus on delivering integrated services to clients in Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties. The new Miami office, which encompasses more than 22,000 square feet on the 17th floor of the Miami Tower, will have 125 employees and the firm anticipates adding an additional 35 staff at that location in the near term.

Exceptional Workplace

The new Miami Tower office will embody BDO’s Exceptional Workplace strategy that the firm has been rolling out in new offices around the country. BDO USA Latin American Headquarters

The new Miami office will serve as the home of BDO USA’s Latin American Desk and as the center for the CEO of the Americas region of BDO International, Ltd, the global network of independent BDO firms. Ernie Saumell, a co-leader of the Latin American Desk will be based in the office, as will Albert Lopez, a former assurance leader for Miami and the Southeast region of BDO USA, who was recently named CEO of the Americas region of the BDO network. These resources will place Miami at the center of BDO USA’s growth strategy for Latin America as the firm helps clients facilitate cross border business activity by coordinating access to local assurance, tax and advisory resources.

Leadership Announcements

Alfredo Cepero will serve as assurance managing partner for all of the South Florida practice. The firm also announced that Vince Carrodeguas, an assurance partner, has been assigned to drive professional training and career development for assurance personnel in the South Florida.

Sandy Horowitz will serve as the tax managing partner for the new Miami office, while Daniel Castro and Lori Myers will serve as the tax managing partners for the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices respectively. Madeline Elias has been appointed to a new role as tax market leader for South Florida, which is focused on enhancing the tax practice’s relationships with the business community throughout the region.
