Morgan Stanley Recognizes Brighterion with Fintech Award at Firm’s Annual Fintech Summit

60 Fintech firms presented innovative products across a broad spectrum of the bank’s technology investments

NEW YORK--()--Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) today announced that Brighterion, Inc., a Mastercard company providing innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, has been honored with the inaugural Morgan Stanley Fintech Award at its annual Fintech Summit in New York. The Award recognizes the fintech company that had the most significant impact on Morgan Stanley’s mission to continuously innovate for its clients and business. Brighterion analyzes complex data transactions and identifies new and unknown activity patterns that could indicate fraudulent behavior. Brighterion’s founder, Dr. Akli Adjaoute, Ph.D., accepted the award during the Summit’s evening reception.

“Brighterion adds a new layer of protection to help keep our clients’ assets safe,” said Jason Dandridge, Managing Director and Global Head of Fraud at Morgan Stanley. “The open architecture of the platform offers a remarkable level of transparency, providing our teams with a faster and easier way to build, enhance and adapt models.”

This year’s Fintech Summit brought together CEOs and leadership from over 60 fintech companies with Morgan Stanley’s senior leaders in business, technology and operations. Discussions focused on technology collaboration opportunities across the capital and alternative investment markets, client service, data and analytics, banking and payments, regulatory and compliance as well as fraud and security.

“The fintech landscape is diverse and rapidly evolving, impacting our clients, front-office, back office, infrastructure and regulators,” said Shawn Melamed, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Head of the Technology Business Development. “By facilitating a direct dialogue between promising fintech companies and key decision makers in business and technology, we can effectively explore and fast-track new client and business opportunities.”

“The disruptive power of the fintech industry is best harnessed in partnership with the experience and scale of a large financial services organization,” said Robert Rooney, CEO of Morgan Stanley International and Global Head of Technology. “We’re thrilled to build new relationships with our Fintech Summit attendees to accelerate innovation that helps Morgan Stanley drive our clients’ investment success, become more efficient and safeguard their assets.”
