CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Salem Media Group (NASDAQ: SALM) announced today that AM 870 The Answer Morning co-host Brian Whitman has signed a contract extension to remain co-hosting of the morning show in Los Angeles. Brian first joined Salem in April of 2012, after previous stints with KABC, and KLSX in Los Angeles and WABC in New York.
Earlier this year, Brian was joined by Jennifer Horn as co-host of The Morning Answer. The two now broadcast weekday mornings, 6-9am on KRLA, and also on Salem's AM 590 The Answer in Riverside-San Bernardino.
Salem President of Broadcast Dave Santrella said, "Brian has proved himself to be the consummate radio quarterback. He leads the show and the audience from one breaking news story to the next and does so in both an informed and entertaining way."
"Brian first worked for me at WABC in New York, and has proven to be one of the most talented morning hosts in the country," said Salem Senior VP of Spoken Word Formats Phil Boyce. "For six years now Brian has been the anchor of our morning show in LA, and we call him the glue because he holds everything together so well. His comedic impressions of top newsmakers helps the show stay entertaining even in the middle of breaking news," added Boyce.
"I'm thrilled to sign this new deal with Salem, a unique and special broadcast company," said Whitman. "Our new agreement will keep me on my beloved 'Morning Answer' for years to come. Our show is an ensemble and it wouldn't be the same without my talented co-host and dear friend Jennifer Horn," added Whitman. "I am truly blessed to have such history with KRLA and our great Los Angeles market."
AM 870 The Answer Program Director Chuck Tyler added, "Brian is a one-of-a-kind talent. I'm thrilled to know that he will be anchoring the Morning Answer for years to come!"
