Movimento Wins Coveted TU-Automotive Award 2016 for Best Telematics Product/Service

Movimento Honored for Excellence in Data, Security, Software Management and OTA Services for the Automotive Ecosystem

DETROIT & SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--TU-Automotive Movimento was just recognized for its ground-breaking work in Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates and lifecycle management for the automotive and IoT sectors by winning one of the prestigious TU-Automotive 2016 awards -- specifically, "Best Telematics Product/Service." This award identifies leaders that are pushing the connected-car industry forward through innovation, industry engagement and high-quality products and services. Movimento’s OTA platform represents a major milestone in automotive history -- the first time that the three key elements of data, security and software management were combined in one platform.

There were more than 400 nominees from all over the world competing in this year's TU-Automotive Awards, with the winners selected by a team of 30 top industry experts. Movimento faced stiff competition from HARMAN, Jasper, Rightware, Sierra Wireless & INVERS, Volvo Cars, HERE and Cubic Telecom before winning this award. Winners were announced at the annual TU-Automotive Detroit Conference and Exhibition. http://www.tu-auto.com/detroit/

“Movimento has worked in the trenches with car manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers for over ten years," said Mahbubul Alam, CTO/CMO, Movimento. “Today, we are building an ecosystem of OTA update services for cars including software Over-the-Air (SOTA) and firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA), security updates and data services. Movimento updates three million vehicles per year, which amounts to 5.5 vehicles every minute.”

The Movimento OTA platform and ecosystem not only enables delivery and installation of software updates, but also lets auto OEMs continuously improve and optimize features and functionality based on actual usage through the data collection capabilities. This shortens the development cycle and the time to market for new features in the era of the software-defined car.
