Panel: “Giving the Tricorder Life 50 Years After Star Trek

The epic sci-fi series Star Trek was first to imagine a future where we all have portable, handheld wireless devices that monitor and diagnose our health conditions. Now, the Tricorder is coming to life thanks to the Qualcomm Tricoder XPRIZE. Medtech experts and Star Trek: Voyager’s doctor, Robert Picardo, will explore the voyage of science fiction to reality and the future of personalized medicine. Available experts:

While many consider space to be the “final frontier,” humans have only explored an estimated 5% of our oceans. Over 500 people have journeyed into space and a dozen have walked on the surface of the moon, while only three people have explored the deepest known point of the ocean. Which frontier — oceans or space — will have the greatest impact on generations to come?

World Premiere of Moon Shot. The story of the Google Lunar XPRIZE

Moon Shot — the documentary web series made in partnership between Bad Robot, Epic Digital, Google about the Google Lunar XPRIZE will have its WORLD PREMIERE at SXSW on Monday, March 14th. This 9-episode series directed by Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel and Executive Producer J.J. Abrams, tells the remarkable stories of the 16 groups vying to win the Google Lunar XPRIZE, a $30 million competition for privately funded teams to land a robot on the surface of the Moon.
