CTMI Announces Acquisition of Easley, McCaleb & Associates to Create Leading National Property Tax, Sales & Use Tax and Expense Recovery Firm

DALLAS--()--Dallas-based property tax and expense recovery firm CTMI has acquired Easley, McCaleb & Associates (EMA), a national property tax firm based in Atlanta. The transaction bolsters CTMI’s position as one of America’s leading national tax consulting firms. The deal closed October 30, 2015.

The company will operate as CTMI, LLC. Leadership will remain in place with Mark Boozer leading CTMI as managing partner in Dallas and former EMA owner Blain McCaleb serving as managing director in Atlanta. There will be no change in client service teams and all offices will remain in their current facilities.

In addition to operating four offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Henderson and Houston, CTMI will now have additional offices in Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

“We believe this is a great strategic fit for our business, and our clients are the big winners here,” said Mark Boozer, CTMI Managing Partner. “Our combined expertise, services, national footprint and technology will result in an even stronger value proposition to our clients. We can deliver the resources of a large firm with a small company feel.”

CTMI provides three core services—expense recovery, sales and use tax and property tax consulting. This transaction will allow CTMI to leverage the best practices, market intelligence and expertise of both firms and provide a broader range of services to clients.

Ranking among the top 20 property tax and recovery firms in the U.S., CTMI is recognized for its leading business practices and use of proprietary technology to enhance client services through efficiency and speed in service delivery and reporting.

Starbucks’ property and business tax manager, Sr. Sheryl Bennett-Holland, remarked, “CTMI is Starbucks’ trusted partner in our co-sourced property tax management team. I am always treated like I am their only customer and their highest priority.”

Blaine McCaleb, former EMA owner, noted, “EMA was interested in joining CTMI because we share similar cultures and a business philosophy of responsiveness, transparency and communications with clients. CTMI also has the resources and technology to enable us to grow faster and to offer additional services to our current real estate clients.”
