Resorts Digital Gaming Bolsters Poker Landscape in New Jersey with Addition of PokerStars

World’s Largest Online Gaming Site to Enter United States Market under Resorts Internet Gaming Permit

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.--()--Resorts Digital Gaming, LLC (“Resorts”), the online gaming arm of Resorts Casino Hotel, is thrilled to announce that PokerStars, owned by Amaya Gaming Group Inc., has been granted approval to launch in the United States. Partnered with Resorts, PokerStars will enter into the New Jersey market as the world’s leading online poker site. The announcement follows the launch of ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com, the first two of Resorts’ online casino sites which offer the very best in online casino slots and table games, as well as exclusive titles unavailable anywhere else.

“Our partnership with PokerStars is a testament to our commitment to offering our players the very best gaming and entertainment experience,” said Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel, a Mohegan Sun property. “We are proud to join forces with PokerStars as they make their entry into the United States online gaming market, and look forward to officially launching after completion of the regulatory test period.”

While an official launch date has not yet been revealed, the announcement that the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has issued PokerStars a transactional waiver to conduct online gaming in New Jersey is welcome news to those who have been following PokerStars’ possible entry into the US market. In July 2013, Resorts announced an agreement to partner with PokerStars to provide online poker in the Garden State. Since the announcement, PokerStars has completed the licensing application process to offer online players in New Jersey a world-class poker experience.

Following the successful launch of ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com, the go-to online casinos for the best-in-class casino slots and table games under the Resorts online gaming license, PokerStars will become not only the casino’s exclusive online poker website, but also the top poker brand in New Jersey. This partnership between Resorts and PokerStars will bolster the online gaming market in New Jersey and catapult the Resorts brand to the forefront of online gaming.

“We are confident that the partnership with PokerStars will boost our online gaming activities and help us emerge as the leader in New Jersey’s poker market,” said Mark Giannantonio, president and CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel. “With PokerStars approved for licensed online gaming, our players will have the opportunity to experience real-money poker games from the world’s number one poker website.”

PokerStars will diversify Resorts’ already robust online offerings, which includes both ResortsCasino.com and the recently launched MoheganSunCasino.com. Both sites feature a wide selection of casino slots and table games, plus exclusive titles from gaming leader NYX Gaming Group.

“We are eager to bring our great partnership with Resorts Casino Hotel online and to offer the PokerStars brand to our legion of fans in New Jersey,” said Eric Hollreiser, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Amaya Inc. “PokerStars’ integrity, business acumen and track record of developing best-practices in the industry make it a highly qualified and valuable partner for Resorts.”
