National Government Services Financial Solutions Program Appraised at Maturity Level 4

INDIANAPOLIS--()--National Government Services, Inc. announced today that its Financial Solutions program has been appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® Maturity Level 4.

CMMI uses a numeric scale to rate the maturity of a service process that focuses on the people, procedures and tools within that process. The CMMI maturity levels are increasingly used by government agencies and Fortune 500 companies to evaluate the potential for organizations to consistently deliver quality solutions on time and within budget. Developed by the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie-Mellon University, the CMMI model is divided into five maturity levels that cover more than 21 different process areas, including collaboration with customers and partners.

National Government Services Financial Solutions offers its customer, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), a comprehensive portfolio of innovative, multifaceted finance and accounting services for numerous initiatives. The program issues electronic funds transfer and paper check payments to providers treating World Trade Center first responders; developed and maintains the Incentive Payment System to support the adoption and promotion of electronic health records; and provides billing, collection and premium aggregation services to support the federal government’s mission of providing small businesses with the opportunity to offer affordable health plans to their employees.

“Government agencies are placing a larger emphasis on contractors’ abilities to control their processes to ensure quality and affordability,” said Tim Masheck, National Government Services vice president of health information technology. “I am very proud that our financial solutions team achieved CMMI Level 4. This highlights our commitment to offering consistent, high-quality services to our federal government customers.”
