NAPLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--John Bode, who has extensive experience in re-focusing companies, has joined The Burke • Gillis • Juliano Group (BGJ), to head up the global consultancy’s strategic support of Hudson News Distributors, LLC, one of the leading magazine and book distributors in the country. The appointment is effective immediately.
BGJ is designing and will help execute a new business model that will create new growth opportunities at Hudson. Bode will lead the effort with support from BGJ principal Jim Gillis, who has broad consulting, P/L management, private equity and both public and private board experience.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of equity and debt markets, and long-standing relationships with investment and commercial bankers across multiple financial institutions. He has the expertise needed to help Hudson with a no-holds-barred approach,” said Gillis.
Hudson engaged BGJ last year to find new opportunities with the company’s elaborate distribution systems. While looking at new sources of revenue, it became clear the current model of magazine and book distribution is not sustainable even for the near-term future.

Bode’s recent achievements include the $1.6 billion restructuring of a publicly traded companies and the listing of a subsidiary of a non-public company on the NYSE. He formerly served as CFO at Tribune Publishing and Source Interlink, and as an auditor at BDO, and earned his BS in Accounting from University of Notre Dame.
