MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capella University is making nursing and health administration education more affordable by offering $1,500 to $5, 000 scholarships to new students who start an eligible Capella nursing or health administration program between January and April 2015 and meet scholarship requirements. Capella University is a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers. The university has a long history of providing advanced education in nursing and health care, and will also sponsor speaking engagements by nurse leader Katie Duke at the 2014 American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet® Conference** in Dallas, Texas, on October 8 and 9.
Nursing and health administration scholarship eligibility
Fourteen online nursing programs are eligible for the nursing scholarships, including two certificates; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), RN-to-BSN specialization; nine Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) specializations, including four RN-to-MSN specializations; and three Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) specializations. Seven additional programs are eligible for the health administration scholarships, including a health administration certificate, three Master of Health Administration (MHA) specializations, and three Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) specializations.
All new students who are admitted to these programs and meet other eligibility requirements will receive scholarships: $1,500 for certificate programs, $3,000 for BSN programs, $4,000 for MSN and MHA programs, and $5,000 for DNP and DHA programs. Capella sponsors nurse leader and TV star Katie Duke at 2014 ANCC
To further demonstrate its commitment to advancing the education and careers of nurse leaders, Capella University will present nurse leader and TV star Katie Duke at the 2014 ANCC Magnet® Conference in Dallas, TX on October 8 and 9. She rose to fame as nursing’s most famous advocate after she was profiled on the documentaries NY MED, which aired on ABC networks, and NY ER, which aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network and Discovery Health. Affectionately known as the “Duke of Nursing,” she’s been an unstoppable force since.
