Clear Vision Information Systems Earns National Honors for Infographic on Chronic Disease in Medicare Beneficiaries

LOS ANGELES--()--An infographic created by Clear Vision Information Systems highlighting the state of chronic disease of older Americans and how healthcare providers can more effectively care for these conditions has been honored for excellence in the 31st annual Advertising Awards presented by Healthcare Marketing Report.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards in the country. A national panel of judges reviewed more than 3,700 entries and presented awards of excellence based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.

“Infographics allow for the attractive use of visuals, rather than merely words, to convey complex knowledge and information,” said Gina Stassi, vice president of marketing and business development for Clear Vision. “In an industry such as healthcare, which can get bogged down in technical jargon, we are thrilled that our infographic was honored for finding a simple way to share information and data on an important topic that people will hopefully find understandable and even fun to read.”

According to the infographic (which can be accessed www.cvinfosys.com), the record number of more than 49 million Medicare beneficiaries in the United States is the result of a combination of longer life spans and the aging of the baby boomer generation. The healthcare challenge that accompanies these numbers is the fact that two-thirds of Medicare beneficiaries have two or more chronic conditions, and $3 out of every $4 spent on healthcare is the result of these ailments. That amounts to nearly $7,900 for every American with a chronic disease. The five most common chronic conditions are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, arthritis and diabetes.

As the infographic reveals Clear Vision’s RevMaxPro product helps to ensure that these conditions are identified and properly treated and that providers and health plans can expect to receive reimbursement from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) that is commensurate with the cost of delivering this care. RevMaxPro, one of the healthcare industry’s most powerful and easy-to-use data-intelligence tools, helps identify patients with chronic conditions, pinpoint gaps in treatment, creates patient evaluation forms to ensure chronic conditions are addressed, monitors the reporting of clinical data to CMS, and aligns revenue with expected costs of care.

Clear Vision’s infographic was honored in the “new media” category, which recognizes the proliferation of online communication and other creative outlets through which organizations can share information and tell their stories. The rise and power of the Internet and its social media tools has allowed infographics to take on heighten significance as a way to quickly and easily spread information among many people around the world.
