GEICO's Macon office making big hiring push in 2014

MACON, Ga.--()--GEICO has put up a big "Help Wanted" sign at its Macon office in order to hire new associates to keep up with the company's strong policyholder growth. The Macon office, which already employs more than 5,400 associates, has identified more than 500 new positions that it would like to add this year.

"Opportunities abound at GEICO," said Rhett Rayburn, Macon Southeast regional vice president. "Last year close to one-fourth of GEICO associates throughout the country received at least one promotion, so in addition to keeping up with growth we also need to bring on new associates to step into those roles."

Available job openings include:

  • Entry-level positions in sales, customer service, claims, emergency roadside service, glass claims and salvage total loss
  • Positions for college graduates in liability claims customer service positions and the Management Development Program (MDP), one of GEICO's leadership programs

In February, representatives of GEICO's Macon office were presented the key to the city by Macon mayor Robert Reichert in recognition of the office's 2013 fundraising efforts, which included a donation of more than $1 million to the United Way. GEICO also received the 2012 "Business of the Year" award from the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce for its effort to improve the local economy and its support of local causes.

"We place a strong emphasis on not only providing tools and resources for our associates to build their careers, but we also make sure they have opportunities to get involved in their community and make a difference," said Scott Markel, Macon Midwest regional vice president.

GEICO offers competitive starting salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, continuing education, career growth opportunities, community engagement opportunities and a friendly, supportive workplace.
