UPRR Senior VP to oversee group tasked with servicing needs of holders

NEW YORK--()--Unclaimed Property Recovery and Reporting (UPRR) LLC, the nation’s leading full-service unclaimed property firm, today announced that Karen Anderson, UPRR’s senior vice president for compliance, will head up the company’s Advisory Services Group.

The Advisory Services Group develops strategies, provides guidance, and implements specialized projects to insure that needs and concerns of holders nationwide are addressed efficiently and effectively. Whether a holder is under audit, wants to train its staff in unclaimed property compliance, or just needs new policies and procedures drafted, the Advisory Services Group is staffed with experts who can provide just what the client needs. Ms. Anderson will also continue in her role as compliance officer for the company. During the last year, Ms. Anderson has also served as the president of the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization, the leading trade organization for the unclaimed property field. Her term as president concludes on March 24, 2014.

Ms. Anderson’s background includes service as a policy adviser to a former Illinois Governor, serving as the Illinois’ Unclaimed Property Administrator, and the first Director of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators.

During Ms. Anderson’s tenure as UPPO President, the organization made great strides, including significant enhancements to member services, advancements in UPPO’s advocacy program and the creation of substantive online educational content available to members.

As a respected member of the unclaimed property community, Anderson has won many industry awards and has been recognized by many organizations for her insightful contributions. As a sought-after educator in unclaimed property matters she has spoken to and written articles for dozens of professional groups. She will bring this vast amount of knowledge and experience to lead the Advisory Services Group, giving holders a phenomenal resource to draw upon.
