MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allison Flax-Archer, PhD, a graduate of Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has been appointed secretary general of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) National Commission for UNESCO. British Virgin Islands Governor Boyd McCleary, CMG, CVO, appointed Dr. Flax-Archer to the position, where she serves as the liaison between the BVI office and UNESCO’s world headquarters in Paris, France. Flax-Archer earned her PhD in Education with a Postsecondary and Adult Education specialization from Capella. As of Dec. 31, 2010, more than 39,000 students are pursuing an online degree at Capella, with 31 percent enrolled in Capella’s doctoral degree programs, and 47 percent enrolled in Capella’s master’s degree programs.
