DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS of Greater Dallas), a nonprofit provider of free housing and credit counseling and education, announces it is now offering free reverse mortgage counseling. The agency received approximately $350,000 in combined grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), which will provide the resources for CCCS of Greater Dallas to provide free counseling sessions throughout 2010.
“It is not only necessary but critical that consumers considering a reverse mortgage complete a counseling session before entering this type of loan,” said Linda Davis, housing director for CCCS of Greater Dallas. “Reverse mortgages can be perfect for some, but not ideal for everyone. We look forward to assisting more consumers with free counseling and helping them determine if they’re a good candidate for the loan.”
