LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hydra, the largest pure performance-based advertising network distributing results-based campaigns through display, social media, e-mail and search marketing, was named the 2009 Internet/New Media Company of the year by the Technology Council of Southern California. The awards were presented at the Technology Council’s annual gala event on Thursday, April 30, in downtown Los Angeles at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Now in its 15th year, the Technology Industry Awards recognize Southern California-based technology leaders that have made outstanding contributions to the industry over the past year. Past winners include companies like Earthlink, LowerMyBills.com, Blizzard Entertainment, and Disney Interactive.
“We are thrilled that Hydra won. I see it as deserved recognition for the quality of our team and its success in achieving positive growth in this challenging economy,” said Zac Brandenberg, CEO of Hydra. “This award also reflects the increasing migration of marketers to a risk-free, performance-based CPA (cost-per-action) advertising model.”
Topping $100 million in revenue in 2008, Hydra delivers over 25 million transactions per year for online direct response to Fortune 500 marketers, and just recently brought on its 1,000th advertiser according to Brandenberg.
Reaching more than 25,000 people throughout the region, the Technology Council of Southern California is the premier forum for providing the events, connections, information and resources to help technology companies succeed.
“It’s especially gratifying to see how successful this year’s finalists have been in spite of the economic climate,” said Rick Sharga, President of the Technology Council. “The Technology Council of Southern California is pleased to honor Hydra among the ‘best of the best’ in technology from Southern California in 2009.”
This award follows Hydra’s recent win for Outstanding Achievement in Internet Advertising at the 2009 Internet Advertising Competition.
