Travelers Institute to Host Webinar on U.S. Demographic Trends With Aspen Institute’s Dr. Luke Pardue
HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), will host a webinar on Wednesday, April 15, titled “America’s Shrinking Workforce: How Demographic Trends Are Reshaping the U.S. Economy,” featuring Dr. Luke Pardue, Policy Director of the Aspen Economic Strategy Group at Aspen Institute.
“For the first time, the U.S. is facing a future where each generation is smaller than the last – a demographic shift that will reshape everything from local workforces to national economic policy,” said Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers. “We look forward to unpacking Dr. Pardue’s research and discussing its implications for the insurance sector and businesses across other industries.”
Dr. Pardue will share findings from the Aspen Institute’s latest report, “Demographic Headwinds: The Economic Consequences of Lower Birth Rates and Longer Lives,” and explore what these trends mean for labor markets, public policy and the business community.
“The U.S. is entering an unprecedented demographic transition, defined by historically low birth rates and an aging population. These trends will weigh on economic growth and fiscal sustainability if left unaddressed,” said Dr. Pardue. “Having these discussions is critically important to identifying long-term solutions that maintain a healthy, productive U.S. economy.”
The Aspen Institute is a nonprofit that fosters nonpartisan dialogue, leadership development and action on complex global challenges through seminars, policy programs and thought leadership. Dr. Luke Pardue is Policy Director with the organization’s Economic Strategy Group, a bipartisan group committed to promoting evidence-based solutions to significant challenges confronting the American economy.
The session, which will be moderated by Woodward, will be held at 1 p.m. ET. The webinar is part of the company’s Wednesdays with Woodward® series, which is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending can register here.
