Aqara Launches Thermostat Hub W200 in the North American Market

The Matter-enabled 4-in-1 thermostat hub unifies climate, security, and automation with mmWave presence sensing and seamless third-party device integration

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aqara, a global leader and pioneer in IoT, today announced the availability of the Aqara Thermostat Hub W200, the company’s first thermostat designed for North America. Introduced at CES 2026, the Aqara W200 is one of the first thermostats to support Apple’s Adaptive Temperature* and Clean Energy Guidance** features, redefining how smart homes balance convenience and sustainability.

Operating as a 4-in-1 thermostat, the W200 brings together the Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance supported by Apple, Matter interoperability, and advanced spatial presence sensing to serve as a centralized control panel for the modern smart home. Designed to go beyond existing temperature control solutions, the W200 unifies climate control, Clean Energy Guidance from Apple, and broader smart home interactions into a single, wall-mounted interface—reflecting Aqara’s vision of a spatially intelligent home that naturally adapts to the residents' routines without constant manual input.

“The Thermostat Hub W200 marks an important addition to Aqara’s U.S. product lineup,” said Cathy You, Aqara Senior Vice President of Global Business and Strategy. “As one of the first thermostats to support Apple Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance, the W200 brings truly autonomous, intelligent climate control to the market. It not only fills a key gap in our portfolio, but also expands the possibilities for automation across Aqara’s rich product assortment—giving homeowners a more personalized, energy-optimized environment.”

The W200 utilizes its deep integration with Apple devices, including iPhone, Apple Watch, HomePod, and Apple TV to transform HVAC management from a manual task into an automated, context-aware experience. The system intelligently predicts when residents are home, asleep, or away, precisely tailoring the indoor climate to ensure maximum comfort.

In addition to delivering automated comfort, the W200 leverages Clean Energy Guidance to help align heating and cooling with cleaner energy times on the local power grid. By analyzing grid conditions and environmental inputs, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to take advantage of times when the grid is cleaner, while ensuring comfort and managing one of a home's most energy-intensive systems autonomously.

Beyond individual climate management, the Thermostat Hub W200 serves as the intelligent center of the Aqara ecosystem, bridging the gap between climate, security, and spatial awareness. Equipped with an integrated mmWave radar, the W200 intelligently responds to human presence—automatically activating the display upon approach and adjusting temperatures based on occupancy to maximize energy savings. By pairing the W200 with remote sensors like the Climate Sensor W100*** or the Presence Multi-Sensor FP300, users can further automate HVAC behavior based on remote temperature readings and occupancy, allowing the system to prioritize comfort in specific rooms or areas of the home, delivering a more accurate and responsive environment than a standalone thermostat can provide.

The W200 further acts as a visual command center for home security. When connected to the Aqara video doorbells and smart locks, the W200’s 4-inch touchscreen display becomes a dedicated security portal. Users can view real-time doorbell snapshots and unlock their front door with a single tap directly from the screen.

Built with Thread and Zigbee support, the W200 functions as a powerful Matter hub capable of managing over 50 device types from both Aqara and third-party Matter-enabled manufacturers. This creates a unified platform for whole-home automation, from adjusting lighting to lowering roller shades. Supported by a built-in mmWave radar sensor, it can also work as an independent presence sensor, triggering versatile automation scenes.

Designed for North American infrastructure, the W200 is compatible with most HVAC systems (furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, PTACs). Compatible with the Matter 1.4 spec, the Thermostat Hub W200 features native, local integration into Matter ecosystems, including Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Homey, Home Assistant, and SmartThings, offering future-proof interoperability across Matter-Enabled Ecosystems. This future-proof interoperability ensures that family members using different operating systems can all seamlessly control the W200. Additionally, the dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) connectivity ensures faster response times and reliable connections even in a crowded network.

Availability and Pricing

The Thermostat Hub W200 is available now for $159.99**** through Aqara’s official website, Amazon (CA, US), Best Buy (US), Home Depot (US), and other retailers. And the C wire adapter is sold separately for $29.99.

The Thermostat Hub W200 Matte Kit will be sold on Apple store from September 2026 for $169.99.
