As part of the renovation and family support effort, Woofie’s Co-Founder and President, Amy Addington; Woofie’s Palm Beach–Jupiter Franchise Owner Lisa Werner Stoller, and Woofie’s of East Louisville Franchise Owner Michael LeMire (the first of several veteran-owned franchisees for the Woofie’s brand) will treat the Dawson’s family dog Luna, a 2-year-old German Shepherd-Husky mix from Big Dog Ranch Rescue, to a fresh groom in the Woofie’s mobile pet spa as the home makeover takes place. Woofie’s team members from across the brand’s network of franchises also volunteered to assist with the home transformation.

Hosted by veteran and television personality Montel Williams, Military Makeover with Montel brings together companies, nonprofits and volunteers to help transform the homes and lives of veterans and their families. Woofie’s involvement reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting military families and the pets who are often central to their well-being.

Dawson served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and rose to rank of sergeant before being medically retired. His service included deployments to Iraq from 2009 to 2010 and Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012, where he survived a grenade blast that resulted in shrapnel injuries and a traumatic brain injury. Today, Dawson continues to manage the lasting effects of his service while working as a foreman at a custom welding and fabrication shop and raising his family alongside his partner, Christina Jacome.

“A heartfelt thank you to Woofie’s for giving Luna the most loving care during the Military Makeover. Her doggie spa day was a special treat, and it meant so much to see her happy, relaxed, and pampered. Your kindness and attention made this experience even more unforgettable for our whole family,” said the Dawsons.

Founded in 2004, Woofie’s provides a range of professional pet care services designed to make life easier for pet owners, including mobile pet grooming, dog walking, pet sitting and customizable in-home pet care services. Through its mobile pet spa and convenient app-based scheduling, the company delivers personalized care directly to customers.

Woofie’s has made supporting veterans a priority. The company currently counts eight veteran-owned franchise locations across the country, offers service discounts to veterans at participating Woofie’s locations and provides reduced franchise fees for veterans interested in owning a Woofie’s.

“Military Makeover shines a light on the incredible resilience of veteran families, and we are honored to play a small role in supporting the Dawsons,” said Amy Addington, co-founder and president of Woofie’s. “Pets provide comfort, companionship and emotional support, especially for families navigating the lasting impacts of combat military service. Caring for Luna and contributing to the renovation alongside other volunteers reflects the values that guide our Woofie’s community.”

Military Makeover with Montel premieres March 26 on Lifetime, with the segment featuring the Dawsons and Woofie’s appearing in the April 2 episode, airing at 7:30 a.m. Eastern/ Pacific; check your local listings.
