Monarch Expands Nationwide Footprint, Names Anna Lohrfink CEO Amid Rapid Physician Adoption

Growing network of independent women’s health physicians fuels next phase of expansion

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Monarch, a company that helps women’s health physicians build independent membership-based practices, announced that co-founder Anna Lohrfink has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Hani Elias, co-founder and founding CEO, will transition to Chairman of the Board, continuing to support the company’s long-term vision and strategic growth.

The leadership transition comes as demand accelerates among both physicians and patients for care models that are more sustainable and relationship-driven. Between 40 to 75% of OB-GYNs report symptoms of burnout while the average OB-GYN patient visit lasts about 9 minutes. As physicians search for alternatives to high-volume care models, Monarch has supported multiple successful practice launches and is now expanding its network of independent physicians nationwide.

“Anna drew the very first sketches of what Monarch could be and has been the driving force behind its evolution ever since,” said Hani Elias, Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Monarch. “I’ve watched her lead with clarity, earn deep trust from physicians, and guide the business strategically at every stage. She is the right person to lead Monarch into its next chapter.”

Expanding a New Model for Women’s Healthcare

Lohrfink previously served as Monarch’s Chief Product Officer, where she helped design the care model and physician partnerships that underpin Monarch’s work. Her background spans women’s health advocacy, sociology, and impact investing, giving her a unique perspective on how care models and infrastructure shape the care women receive. She has worked closely with physicians across the country to build patient-centered, sustainable practices. Now, she will guide Monarch’s next phase of growth by expanding partnerships with women’s health physicians while strengthening the infrastructure required to support high-quality, relationship-based care.

“Physicians are looking for a way to practice medicine that’s sustainable, and women are asking for care that feels unhurried, personal, and consistent,” said Anna Lohrfink, CEO, Monarch. “This next chapter for Monarch is about expanding what works, supporting more physicians, reaching more women, and doing it in a way that preserves the quality and integrity of care.”

Recent Practice Launches and Momentum

  • Monarch has recently supported the launch of four membership-based women’s health practices led by Dr. Suzanne Gilberg and Dr. Karyn Eilber in Beverly Hills, California, Dr. Jessica Ritch in Aventura, Florida, and Dr. Jeffrey Kotzen in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
  • The model has enabled Dr. Gilberg to reduce her daily patient load from more than 25 patients per day to approximately 8, while sustaining strong patient continuity and a 91% average member renewal rate.
  • Monarch continues to grow its network of independent women’s health physicians, with new partnerships signed in California, Michigan, and South Carolina and additional practice launches expected throughout 2026.

“Partnering with Monarch has been life-changing,” said Dr. Suzanne Gilberg, Chief Clinical Officer, Monarch. “I finally have the time and space to practice medicine the way I’ve always envisioned.”

“We built Monarch to demonstrate a better way forward for women’s healthcare,” Lohrfink said. “When physicians have the time and support to practice thoughtfully, care improves for women. Our focus now is on expanding that model and making it accessible to more physicians and more women.”
