The updated release reads:

TOP M&A LAWYERS ROBERT LEUNG, MIKE HUANG AND DANIEL GROSSMAN JOIN HSF KRAMER

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) announced today that highly regarded M&A lawyers Robert Leung, Mike Huang and Daniel Grossman have joined the firm’s Corporate M&A practice as partners in its New York office. Leung will serve as the firm’s Head of Energy, Mining and Infrastructure, Americas. Jason Hill is also joining the group as counsel.

The move advances the firm’s strategic growth in the US and expands the resources available to clients seeking comprehensive, sector-specific support across the full spectrum of transactions. It follows the recent arrival of David Pearl this month, as well as John Elias, Burr Eckstut, Kyle Ortiz, Brian Shaughnessy, Jilan Kamal and Damian Petrovic in 2025.

Collectively, the team brings extensive experience navigating complex, multijurisdictional matters to their work in strategizing, structuring and negotiating deals that align with their clients’ operational and business objectives, risk tolerance and strategic mandates. Throughout their careers, the team has advised private and public companies, investors and other clients in a variety of industries, including energy, infrastructure, mining, natural resources and financial services, on both domestic and cross-border transactions. The team’s experience spans inbound and outbound M&A, joint ventures, financings and other strategic transactions across the US, Europe and Asia, with thorough background in Latin America. Client representations have included Caithness Energy, Glenfarne Group, Intercorp, Javelin Global Commodities, Nexus Group and SiriusPoint Ltd. They join HSF Kramer from Paul Hastings, where they served as partners.

“Team hires are always exciting. Adding this level of strategic M&A talent further strengthens our US platform and underscores our commitment to long-term investment and sustained growth in the region,” said Justin D’Agostino, Global CEO of HSF Kramer. “Their top-tier experience enhances our ability to deliver high‑impact advice on domestic and cross‑border transactions. We are deepening the capabilities our clients need to navigate increasingly strategic and complex transactions in the US and globally.”

Paul Schoeman, Executive Partner, US, at HSF Kramer, said, “These three partners have the background and skill sets vital for growth to enhance our M&A platform, especially in the rapidly changing energy, infrastructure and mining sectors. Their arrival underscores the commitment HSF Kramer has to attracting top-level talent in key markets.”

“Rob, Mike and Dan all bring distinguished M&A credentials and deep transactional experience that bolster our M&A practice at HSF Kramer. Their work on complex domestic and cross-border deals enhances our ability to deliver seamless, high-level counsel across jurisdictions and industries,” said Ernest Wechsler, Managing Partner and Co-Chair of Corporate, US, and Howard Spilko, Global Head of Private Equity and Co-Chair of Corporate, US.

Leung added, “Joining the firm at such a pivotal moment for the practice and the broader platform positions us to leverage its global reach and integrated capabilities, and we are eager to do so. This foundation enables us to scale our cross-border M&A work, pursue high-value opportunities and provide elite service to our collective sophisticated client base.”

Leung received his J.D. from Yale Law School and B.A. from Cornell University. Huang earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Grossman earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and B.A. from the College of William & Mary.
