Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Texas Monthly Studio Reveal Winners of Star-Spangled Texas Mural Competition

Abilene, Bryan and Tyler selected to receive custom murals celebrating community pride and unique history

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), the Coca-Cola bottler for Texas and parts of Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas, in collaboration with Texas Monthly Studio, has confirmed Abilene, Bryan and Tyler as the winning cities of the Star-Spangled Texas mural competition, a statewide initiative celebrating community pride, creativity and the stories that define towns across Texas.

Launched in celebration of the upcoming America250 milestone, the competition invited 10 Texas towns to compete for the opportunity to receive one of three custom murals designed to reflect their community’s unique identity. Residents rallied behind their hometowns by casting votes to help determine the winning cities.

“Every town in Texas has a story worth telling,” said Susanne Brady-Lusk, president of Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. “We are excited to highlight the creativity, character and spirit that make these communities unique. These murals will bring the stories of Abilene, Bryan and Tyler to life in a way that residents and visitors can experience for years to come.”

The winning cities will each receive a one-of-a-kind mural that will serve as a lasting landmark celebrating local culture, artistic expression and civic pride. Each mural will reflect the character, heritage and values of its community, transforming public spaces into works of art for residents and visitors to enjoy. All murals are planned to be completed by Independence Day.

“The Star-Spangled Texas Mural Competition was created to highlight the remarkable creativity found across the Lone Star State,” said Erin Kubatzky from Texas Monthly Studio, Texas Monthly's full-service custom content and digital marketing division. “These murals will give residents and visitors a chance to connect with the heart of each community in a bold and lasting way.”
