“Companies in Latin America are still operating on financial systems built for a different era. At Cobre, we are building infrastructure that enables money to move in real time, with greater efficiency and control. This recognition validates that this transformation is already underway,” said José Vicente Gedeón, CEO and cofounder of Cobre.
Over the past year, Cobre has played a key role in modernizing B2B payments across emerging markets by building real-time financial infrastructure for businesses. In 2025, the company processed more than $17 billion in transactions, doubling its volume compared to 2024. In early 2026, Cobre is processing approximately $2.6 billion in monthly transaction volume, positioning itself as one of the leading B2B payment infrastructures in Latin America.
This growth has been driven by the launch of new solutions that are redefining how companies manage their payments. Among them is the rollout of 24/7 international payments, enabling businesses to send and receive cross-border transfers instantly, removing traditional banking constraints such as limited operating hours and settlement delays. In Colombia, Cobre also became the first indirect participant to enable Bre-B for businesses, allowing interbank transfers in under 20 seconds. More recently, the company received authorization to establish Cobre Financial as a financing company in Colombia.
Today, more than 300 companies across Latin America use Cobre to process payments, optimize treasury operations, and reduce operational friction. In 2025 alone, Cobre helped its clients generate over $27 million in savings. By enabling real-time money movement, the company is helping businesses improve liquidity, reduce reliance on manual processes, and strengthen supply chains in markets where payment delays have historically created significant inefficiencies.
The World’s Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s hallmark franchise and one of its most anticipated editorial efforts of the year. To determine honorees, Fast Company’s editors and writers review companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. The result is a globe-spanning guide to innovation today, from early-stage startups to some of the most valuable companies in the world.
“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies is about spotlighting organizations that don’t just adapt to change—they drive it,” said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “The companies we honor this year are redefining what leadership looks like in 2026, pairing bold ideas with measurable impact and turning breakthrough innovation into real-world value. They are setting the pace for their industries and offering a blueprint for what sustained innovation can achieve.”
