Hotels.com Launches Search for a Room Service Critic, Robe Researcher and Hotel Gym Rater

As part of its new “It’s All in the Name” campaign, Hotels.com is accepting applications for three dream hospitality gigs

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Hotels.com announced three dream “jobs” that are exactly what they sound like:

  • A Room Service Critic who specializes in critiquing room service
  • A Robe Researcher tasked with researching hotel robes
  • And, a Gym Rater to rate hotel gyms

The jobs are inspired by Hotels.com’s new brand campaign, which reminds travelers that with Hotels.com, "It’s All in the Name.” When you book with Hotels.com, there’s no catch — just flexible rewards, deals on hundreds of thousands of hotels, and tools that make the process easy.

“Booking a hotel shouldn’t be complicated, and neither should a job title. At Hotels.com, we like things simple — even our mascot, Bellboy, is an actual bell,” said Melanie Fish, Vice President of Public Relations for Hotels.com. “So, when we say, ‘Hotel Robe Researcher,’ you don’t need a job description because it’s all right there in the name.”

Beginning today, travelers can enter for a chance to become a Room Service Critic, Robe Researcher or Hotel Gym Rater. Selected “applicants” will receive a one-time payment in the form of a $5,000 Hotels.com gift card to use towards their stays. Winners will be asked to report on their findings after their hotel stay is complete by posting on social media and leaving a detailed guest review on Hotels.com.*

Who Should Apply

  • You are a Hotels.com member and hotel enthusiast.
  • You have expertise and passion for room service, plush bathrobes, or hotel gym equipment — and you want to share it with the world.
  • You agree that things should be exactly what they sound like — especially when it comes to booking a great hotel.

The Gigs

  • Room Service Critic: For the person who believes the most luxurious meals are enjoyed in a king-sized bed with a late checkout. You care about the structural integrity of a burger, the crispiness of bedside fries, and have the ability to distinguish between a 10-minute and 30-minute delivery window based solely on the temperature of the bread. You may like The Ned Nomad in New York City, whose room service menu is from Cecconi’s, a highly rated Italian restaurant.

  • Hotel Robe Researcher: For the person who believes "dressing for success" involves an adjustable waist tie and oversized pockets. You can conduct a high-stakes audit of thread counts and accurately identify a waffle-weave versus a plush microfiber by touch alone. If your ideal workday begins and ends in 100% Egyptian cotton, this is your calling. You might be partial to The Wynn Las Vegas, whose robes are prized for their silky-soft fabric, plush lining, and generous sizing.

  • Hotel Gym Rater: For the gym rat who doesn't do "rest days," even on vacation. You can test the cable tension, judge the complimentary fruit and infused water, and try every weight on the rack without breaking a sweat. You prefer a treadmill with a view. Make it your job to know whether the gym is a hot spot or just a place where yoga balls go to die. You'll like The Santa Monica Proper, a highly-rated gym featuring a Pilates reformer.

How to Apply

  • Don’t worry, it’s simple — just fill out and submit this form by March 24, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET. To be considered for these dream positions (that aren’t actual jobs), applicants must be 18+ and based in the U.S.

Winners will be selected and notified by April 30, 2026 via email.

*These are not actual job listings. This is a limited contest where three winners will be selected to receive a $5,000 Hotels.com gift card. There are no requirements to accepting the gift card, though winners will be asked to leave a review via the Hotel.com site following their stay or stays. Posting about their stay on social media is optional, but appreciated.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES AT LEAST 21+ YEARS OLD. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. CONTEST BEGINS 3/17/2026 AND ENDS 3/24/2026.
