Cold-Link Logistics Announces Major Expansion of Providence Cold Storage Facility

Additional pallet positions will more than triple the facility’s capacity, positioning Cold-Link to better serve regional customers and consumers

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cold-Link Logistics (“Cold-Link”), one of the 10 largest privately-held cold storage platforms in North America, announced today a major expansion and upgrade of Cold-Link Logistics Providence, a tri‑temperature cold storage facility at 1 All American Way in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The investment will add 65,000 square feet of freezer space, positioning Cold‑Link to meet surging regional demand for high‑quality, energy‑efficient cold storage.

Once the expansion of the existing 64,000 square feet facility is complete, it will span a total of 129,000 square feet. The expansion will add 13,500 frozen pallet positions, more than tripling total on‑site capacity to 18,000. The renovation will feature a state‑of‑the‑art upgrade, including the installation of a more efficient refrigeration system, expanded loading dock capacity from 14 to 17, and a new fire protection system. As part of the project, 3,000 square feet of current ambient space will be repurposed for freezer capacity. The expansion of the rail‑served Providence facility will enhance its capacity to serve over 15 million consumers in nearby metropolitan hubs, support existing customers in and around the Quonset Business Park, attract larger tenants, and contribute to regional economic growth through job creation.

“This expansion underscores our confidence in Cold‑Link Logistics’ ability to capture growing demand for high‑quality cold storage driven by evolving supply chain needs,” said Michael Mandich, President and Managing Partner of Cold-Link. “The Providence facility plays a critical role in our Northeastern network, serving a diverse range of customers. By nearly doubling capacity and upgrading our infrastructure, we are positioning Cold‑Link to deliver reliable and industry‑leading services well into the future.”

Nick Mandich, Partner at Cold-Link, added: “This expansion marks a significant step forward in Cold‑Link’s growth strategy, enabling us to provide greater capacity, efficiency, and service quality for our customers. We are grateful to our partners at Slate Asset Management and the Quonset Development Corporation, who have been instrumental in bringing this project – which has been years in the making – to fruition.”

Construction on the expansion and renovation will begin in the first quarter of 2026, with completion anticipated by early 2027.
