Bags.fm Launches Global Hackathon With $4M Developer Fund for Next Generation of Crypto Apps
Developers invited to build new crypto apps, trading tools, and fee-sharing models using Bags APIs and App Store
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bags.fm, one of the fastest-growing global crypto-native launchpads for developers and creators, today announced the launch of the Bags Hackathon, an open competition inviting builders worldwide to create new applications, developer tools, and monetization models using the platform’s infrastructure.
“Hackathons are where new ideas actually get built. You put talented developers together with the right tools and suddenly you start seeing products no one expected.” — Finn Bags, Founder and CEO, Bags.fm

The hackathon comes as Bags.fm rolls out its new Bags App Store, a marketplace that lets developers build and distribute products that integrate directly with the Bags App platform. Participants are encouraged to experiment with the company’s APIs to create applications ranging from new trading tools to creative fee-sharing mechanisms and entirely new developer products.
The competition is open to anyone interested in building, including experienced crypto developers, Web2 engineers exploring on-chain tools, creators, and students. Organizers expect more than 1,000 project submissions as developers explore new ways to build apps and monetization models on the platform.
“Hackathons are where new ideas actually get built,” said Finn Bags, founder and CEO of Bags.fm. “You put a bunch of talented developers in the same arena, give them the tools, and suddenly you start seeing products no one expected. That’s what we want to see from the Bags Hackathon, builders experimenting, launching things, and maybe discovering the next big project in the process.”
Participants will have access to Bags API documentation, as well as developer resources and credits from ecosystem partners, including Solana, Helius, Meteora, Privy, DFlow, and Birdeye. Representatives from those organizations will also serve as mentors and judges during the competition.
Projects built during the hackathon will focus broadly on improving the Bags ecosystem. Developers are encouraged to experiment with new applications, especially tools that expand fee sharing, enhance trading infrastructure, or create entirely new user experiences on the platform.
“The real success of a hackathon is discovering builders,” Finn said. “If someone joins this event, builds something great, and decides to keep creating on Bags, that’s the outcome we’re excited about.”
Bags.fm plans to commit up to $4 million to the initiative, including $1 million allocated to the current Bags Hackathon and an additional $3 million continuation fund designed to support winning teams and future developer competitions on the platform. Winning projects will receive grants, launch support, and exposure through the Bags ecosystem.
Following the hackathon, promising projects may receive additional support, including funding opportunities, ecosystem exposure, and distribution through the Bags App Store.

A final showcase event featuring demos and livestreams of participating projects will be held following the submission period. Media and community members will be able to watch demonstrations and follow along with project updates as the competition unfolds.
