Springer Nature Appoints Anna Troise as President, North America

Anna Troise to lead Springer Nature’s U.S. business, driving growth, policy engagement, and relationships across the U.S. research ecosystem.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Springer Nature today announced the appointment of Anna Troise as President, North America, effective March 9. Troise will be based in the company’s New York office and will report directly to Steven Inchcoombe, President, Research. In her new role as President, North America, Troise will lead Springer Nature’s external presence and growth agenda for the Research business in the U.S. This new leadership role underscores Springer Nature’s dedication to advancing the impact of American research.

For nearly 200 years, Springer Nature has helped bring American science to the world, publishing breakthroughs from the discovery of the C60 molecule to the latest advances in AI. This leadership appointment reflects Springer Nature’s strengthened commitment to North America and focus on expanding engagement across the academic ecosystem and accelerating growth. With continued year-over-year investment in the American market, and publishing tens of thousands of articles from American researchers each year, Springer Nature plays a critical role in supporting U.S. scientific discovery and elevating it on the global stage.

“North America plays a pivotal role in our publishing mission and our business performance,” said Steven Inchcoombe, President, Research, Springer Nature. “Anna’s combination of commercial acumen and mission-driven leadership makes her uniquely suited to own and drive our strategy in the region. She is especially adept at growing market share and strengthening stakeholder relationships across government, academia, and industry.

“As the U.S. remains a global leader in scientific discovery and the largest consumer of Springer Nature research, Anna’s leadership will help us expand access, reduce barriers, and strengthen our support of rigorous, independent, reproducible science. We’re delighted to welcome her back to Springer Nature in this new capacity.”

Anna Troise brings deep experience across publishing, education, and commercial leadership in both mission-driven and publicly traded organizations. She was most recently, Chief Commercial Officer at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), where she led a portfolio of scholarly journals, live education events, product development, and industry alliances. Earlier in her career, Troise served as Vice President of the global medical journals program at Wolters Kluwer, held senior roles at John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and worked as a publisher at Nature Publishing Group prior to its integration into Springer Nature. Troise will work closely with global leaders and local colleagues to advance Springer Nature’s priorities in North America.

“The U.S. is home to the world’s largest community of Springer Nature authors and readers. I look forward to deepening our support for American researchers and ensuring that high-quality, independent and accessible science continues to thrive. I welcome the opportunity to partner with colleagues across our global functions and U.S. teams to accelerate our North America strategy in 2026 and beyond,” stated Anna Troise. “Springer Nature’s mission to be part of progress resonates deeply with me, and I’m excited to help strengthen our impact and relationships across the U.S. research ecosystem.”
