Octave Debuts WiseMatch Platform to Improve Behavioral Health Access Through Payor Directories

Proprietary platform brings real-time availability and direct booking to insurance directories, helping patients connect with in-network care faster

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Octave, an innovator in outcomes-focused behavioral health care, today announced the launch of WiseMatch by Octave, a proprietary technology platform that modernizes insurance directories and makes it easier for patients to find and book in-network mental health care.

WiseMatch integrates with health plans, provider groups, EHRs, and independent clinicians to enable real-time matching and booking with in-network behavioral health providers.

WiseMatch is designed for health plans, behavioral health providers, and patients seeking faster access to in-network care. The platform creates a seamless experience for individuals to quickly find and book in-network therapy within payor directories while enabling providers to connect with in-network clients and manage bookings through existing workflows.

“For so long, the health care industry has been focused on creating access to mental health care. Yet, one of the most common places patients go to find care — insurance directories — has remained difficult to navigate,” said Sandeep Acharya, Founder and CEO of Octave. “About 40% of people begin their therapy search inside their health plan’s directory, and too often, that search ends prematurely because the experience is frustrating or outdated. Through innovative technology, WiseMatch changes that by finally making it easy for patients to book care directly with available, in-network providers.”

Behavioral health networks are fragmented across independent providers, group practices, and disconnected EHR systems. Provider information often varies widely and becomes outdated quickly, making it difficult for patients to find and access timely care. WiseMatch integrates across these sources — including EHRs — to deliver a modern therapy booking experience with real-time availability and regularly updated provider data.

Today, tens of thousands of therapists are connected through the WiseMatch platform, joining through Octave’s partnerships with leading mental health practices such as Grow Therapy, Rula, and Sondermind as well as purpose-built behavioral health EHRs like Valant, among others.

Jennifer Meyer, President at SonderMind said: “At SonderMind, we’re committed to building the infrastructure that helps clinicians succeed and patients access high-quality care more efficiently. By partnering with WiseMatch by Octave, we’re integrating our network into the places people are already searching for care and enabling real-time access to care without adding administrative burden for providers. A partnership like this allows us to expand access while continuing to support clinicians with the tools and stability they need to drive improved outcomes for patients.”

Jim Nastri, Director, Channel Growth at Rula said: “For years, health plan members searching for care within their directories have been forced to leave that experience — navigating third-party websites, making phone calls, and often starting over — only to find providers that are either not a fit or unavailable. Together with WiseMatch by Octave, we’ve addressed this longstanding gap by enabling members to find and book in-network care instantly, without ever leaving their health plan’s directory. It’s a meaningful step toward delivering a more seamless, reliable experience to make mental health care work for everyone.”

Julie Harris, VP of Enterprise Partnerships at Grow Therapy said: “Our philosophy at Grow is that there should be no wrong door to care. A modern, best-in-class provider directory is mission-critical because it’s often the moment people decide whether to start seeing a mental health provider. Octave is a crucial partner for us in building those directory capabilities, so we can connect individuals to the best possible care for their needs, whether their journey starts with a web search, their health insurance plan’s directory, or an employer-sponsored mental health program.”

Valant plans to roll out WiseMatch by Octave later this year. “We are excited about this partnership,” said Ram Krishnan, Valant CEO. “Behavioral health providers shouldn’t have to spend valuable clinical time managing the complexity of marketing their practice. Through our partnership with WiseMatch, we’re making it easier for our customers to connect with individuals actively seeking care. By reducing the guesswork involved in attracting new patients, this partnership allows clinicians to focus their energy where it belongs: on delivering high-quality care.”

Through integrations with health plans and directory platforms, members can seamlessly book in-network care.

WiseMatch integrates with health plans, provider groups, EHRs, and independent clinicians to enable real-time matching and booking with in-network behavioral health providers — helping patients find care within the directories where their search typically begins.
