HealthTrust Performance Group Launches Analytics Platform to Align Clinical and Financial Goals in Healthcare

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HealthTrust Performance Group™ (HealthTrust), a leading healthcare performance improvement organization, today announced the launch of Crimson AI, powered by HealthTrust. The artificial intelligence (AI) powered analytics platform is designed to deliver actionable, data-driven insights that help hospitals and health systems in their efforts to reduce total cost of care, minimize unwarranted variation and make informed product evaluation decisions.

“Over the past three years, we focused on designing the right foundation for today’s complex clinical and financial environment,” said Aashish Shah, M.D., JD, SVP & Chief Medical Officer at HealthTrust.

The new platform integrates HealthTrust and Optum data into one platform so healthcare leaders can access a detailed picture of how their system is performing. Instead of sorting through separate clinical, financial and supply chain records, the platform helps enable teams to identify opportunities earlier, understand the mix of utilization and cost, and act quickly and effectively to address them. Connecting information for more than 3.5 million lives helps teams drive data-driven strategies to impact surgical outcomes while focusing on strengthening overall financial performance.

Crimson AI, powered by HealthTrust, integrates directly with a health system’s electronic health record system and uses more than 1,000 risk adjusted and effectiveness measures across inpatient and ambulatory care settings. Teams can use this insight in their work to quickly spot operational bottlenecks, coordinate more easily across departments and make improvements that help care run more smoothly, reliably and affordably.

“Over the past three years, we focused on designing the right foundation for today’s complex clinical and financial environment,” said Aashish Shah, M.D., JD, SVP & Chief Medical Officer at HealthTrust. “By working with Optum to create a unified platform, our goal is to deliver real-time insights that create a shared understanding and support confident, informed decision making.”

Crimson AI is designed to use predictive analytics and a conversational AI chatbot to surface answers quickly and reduce manual work. The platform can deliver up to a 13-to-11 return on investment by identifying waste, forecasting needs and helping teams simplify daily activity. HealthTrust members will now have the opportunity to create a unified view across their clinical, operational and financial data in one platform.

“Crimson AI is built to help health systems clearly understand their performance and act on it when it matters most,” said John Kontor, M.D., SVP of Clinical Technology at Optum Insight. “By combining Optum’s AI-powered capabilities and analytic expertise with HealthTrust’s clinical focus, operator insights and trusted member relationships, we’re helping providers spend less time chasing data and more time improving care delivery.”

The platform will first go live with an Idaho member health system, showing how unified intelligence can provide clearer insight to help reduce unnecessary operational steps, improve coordination and make it easier for clinicians and staff to focus on the people they care for every day. HealthTrust plans to continue expanding its technology and analytics portfolio to support members in delivering care that is more connected, more consistent and more responsive to people and communities.
