Manufactured in Germany, Ardagh Glass Packaging’s amber chemical bottles are engineered for compliance, safety and performance. Designed to protect products from fill to final destination, the new glass bottle kits support organizations seeking reliable, UN-certified solutions for dangerous goods transport.

DGeo’s expanded glass bottle offering is available in 4×4L and 6×1L UN-certified kits, as well as 6×4L and 12×1L non-UN-certified cases. Additional bottle sizes and pack configurations will roll out throughout the year, offering greater flexibility to meet a broad range of chemical shipping needs.

Engineered for Chemical Compliance and Performance

DGeo glass bottle kits are fully UN-certified and approved for hazardous material storage and transport, meeting stringent UN, DOT and IATA standards.

  • Advanced Chemical Resistance. Each bottle undergoes internal fluorine treatment (IFT), upgrading the glass from Type III to Type II and delivering enhanced chemical resistance.
  • Hexacomb® Inner Packaging. DGeo glass bottle kits use Hexacomb inner packaging engineered by Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) that generates less dust and outperforms post-consumer pulp alternatives.
  • High-Performance Closure. Premium Menshen bottle caps are available separately to support safety and reliability across the supply chain. The tamper-evident closures are custom-designed to match bottle specifications and feature solid PTFE liners for enhanced chemical resistance and sealing integrity.

“In my nearly 20 years in the glass packaging industry, I’ve seen firsthand how bottle quality and performance impact chemical shipping,” said Kyle Bayer, principal engineer, DGeo, who recently joined the company to strengthen and scale the bottle portfolio. “Ardagh Glass Packaging bottles deliver the durability and reliability that chemical shippers require. Engineered and manufactured to the highest standards, each bottle undergoes rigorous internal and external treatments, clean room handling and strict quality checks to ensure safety, compliance and dependable performance.”

“We’re delighted to partner with the DGeo team to supply our amber glass chemical bottles,” said Ingo Erdman, senior sales manager, pharma & chemical, Ardagh Glass Packaging – Germany. “Together, we’re supporting safe, compliant transport of chemical liquids with glass packaging that customers rely on.”

Innovative Packaging Backed by Strategic Expertise

Unlike standard packaging suppliers, DGeo pairs its glass bottle solutions with complementary access to expert DG and packaging consulting services to ensure packaging decisions are compliant, optimized and aligned with operational needs.

The expansion of DGeo’s glass bottle portfolio is supported by the recent appointment of Bayer, whose deep expertise spans glass container design, manufacturing, quality assurance and operational performance. Bayer brings 16 years of experience from O-I Glass, Inc., where he served in roles including production line leader, quality manager and project engineer. Prior to joining DGeo, he founded Glass Packaging Consulting and advised businesses on glass packaging strategy.

Meeting the Demand for Smarter Packaging

The portfolio expansion comes amid growing demand for better DG packaging. According to the 2025 Global Dangerous Goods Confidence Outlook, 60 percent of companies plan to invest in smarter packaging over the next two years, and more than half of respondents reported being impacted by packaging issues such as leaks or damaged containers.

“Businesses shipping and handling chemicals and other hazardous materials need a partner that understands their challenges and can deliver reliable packaging that reduces risk, improves performance and ensures compliance,” said John Glaser, director of packaging development, DGeo. “Adding Ardagh Glass Packaging bottles to DGeo’s already broad portfolio of UN-certified packaging reflects our commitment to helping customers ship dangerous goods with confidence.”
