The Bahnsen Group Opens New Silicon Valley Office, Hires Financial Advisor Sean Buxton

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Bahnsen Group, a wealth management firm with over $9 billion in assets under management, today announced the opening of its new office in Silicon Valley, and the hiring of financial advisor Sean Buxton.

Silicon Valley is The Bahnsen Group’s eleventh office location, and its first in Northern California. Based at The Pruneyard Towers in Campbell, this location will spearhead The Bahnsen Group’s expansion in the nation’s key wealth centers. The Bahnsen Group already maintains offices in Newport Beach; New York City; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; West Palm Beach, FL; Nashville, TN; Phoenix, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Grand Rapids, MI and Bend, OR.

Veteran financial advisor Sean Buxton joins The Bahnsen Group based at the new Campbell office. Buxton joins from Legacy Capital Group and brings more than two decades of experience in financial services to The Bahnsen Group. He previously held roles at Beacon Pointe and Ameriprise Financial and has been based in the Silicon Valley area for more than two decades.

“Expanding our reach and capabilities in a part of the country known for the growth and innovation that Silicon Valley is known for is a natural next step for us,” said David Bahnsen, Managing Partner, The Bahnsen Group. “We have had a large client base in Silicon Valley for a long time and in finding an advisor with the skill and experience of Sean Buxton, the stars have aligned for us to do this right.”

“The Bahnsen Group’s depth of talent, technology, and family office capabilities gives me the ability to deliver the highest level of advice, support, and value, all the while preserving the personal relationships that matter most,” said Sean Buxton. “I couldn’t be more honored and excited to lead The Bahnsen Group’s Silicon Valley office and elevate what we can deliver for our clients.”

Eddie Molina, Senior Associate, has relocated to the new Campbell office from the firm’s Newport Beach headquarters. The firm expects to hire additional advisors and talent in its new Silicon Valley office.

The Bahnsen Group also plans to announce a 12th office location in the second quarter of 2026. The firm’s more than $9 billion of assets under management reflect a 31% organic annual growth rate (no M&A) since it launched as a defection from Morgan Stanley in April of 2015.
