Association for Consumer Debt Relief Welcomes Robert Swanger as Head of Public Affairs

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Association for Consumer Debt Relief (ACDR), the leading advocate for the debt relief industry nationwide, has announced Robert Swanger as its new Head of Public Affairs.

Swanger brings extensive experience in public affairs, strategic communications, and digital advocacy. He most recently served as Senior Director of Digital Communications at Bully Pulpit International, where he led public affairs campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and prominent trade associations across sectors, including healthcare, energy, telecommunications, and workforce development. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Digital Strategist at Revolution Messaging, where he developed and executed digital communications strategies for nonprofit clients and spearheaded the firm’s marketing program. Earlier in his career, Swanger worked on several state-level political campaigns, including for New York State Senator Cecilia Tkaczyk and Virginia State Delegate Kathleen Murphy.

“ACDR plays a vital role in elevating the conversation around financial choice and the tools available to help American consumers escape high-interest debt traps,” said Swanger. “I’m excited to join the team and help strengthen the association’s public affairs efforts at a time when the industry’s work to help consumers achieve financial stability is more important than ever.”

“Robert is a seasoned public affairs professional with a strong track record of leading strategic communications campaigns and building effective coalitions,” said ACDR President and CEO Jason Mulvihill. “His experience working at the intersection of policy, advocacy, and digital communications will be a major asset as ACDR continues to grow its presence and impact. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

In his new role, Swanger will lead ACDR’s public affairs strategy, oversee communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives, and support the association’s efforts to educate policymakers and the public on the important role the debt relief industry plays in helping consumers achieve financial stability and opportunity.
